So perfect he's almost too good to be true…

Anna Keebler makes a living being unconventional. A wedding planner who specializes in more… unusual ceremonies, Anna's client list includes everything from nudists to paintballers to Little Red Riding Hood enthusiasts. So when her photographer up and quits during a wedding blitz in Hawaii, Anna makes an unconventional decision. She hires a hot Marine to be her new photographer.

Little does she know, Grant Patton is the best man in one of her weddings. He's so perfect he's practically a Boy Scout—if Boy Scouts were big, ripped Marines with gorgeous gray eyes, and good at, oh, everything. Especially sex. In fact, his only flaw seems to be that he hates marriage as much as she does. But Anna suspects the sexy Boy Scout routine is a cover, and if he wants this thing between them to be about more than sex, Grant must reveal the dark past he's fought so hard to hide…

He dug into his camera bag and grabbed something, then sprinted to a spot about fifteen feet away. He stooped down, then turned and raced back to her gripping a papaya in one hand and a large knife in the other.

“What the hell?” she asked, not sure whether she meant the weapon or the fruit. “Is eating that supposed to help me?”

“No.” Grant sliced into the papaya, his strokes even and lethal. Anna watched the juice dribble into the dirt at his feet and caught sight of something that looked like a pistol in his camera bag.

What kind of man brings an arsenal to a wedding?

A Patton man, she thought as she watched him hack into the flesh of the fruit. A Marine.

Grant dropped the knife on the ground, along with half the papaya. The other half was gripped in one hand as he reached for her with the other.

“Hold still,” he commanded, catching her by the waist again. He flipped up the edge of her dress. “Move your hand.”

She hadn’t realized she was rubbing the bite mark until he said that. “I think you’re taking this bossy thing a little far,” she said, not wanting to admit she found it sexy as hell.

She didn’t fool him, and he pushed her hand out of the way. “You like it,” he said. “And also you need it. This will feel a little cold.”

Before she could ask what he was doing, he was smooshing the papaya against her butt cheek in what was undoubtedly the weirdest postcoital activity she’d experienced.

I couldn't resist requesting this book when I saw it was coming available.  The first two books in the series made me snicker and laugh, with outrageous situations and great dialogue. This one delivered on the promises of those first two books.

We met both Anna and Grant in the book Fiancee for Hire, book 2, Kelli and MacArthur's book, though they never met each other.  Anna is Kelli's former roommate and the wedding planner for Sheridan and Sam's wedding (Marine for Hire, book 1). Grant is Sheridan and MacArthur's youngest brother and the Best Man in Sheridan's wedding. When Grant accidentally causes Anna to be short a photographer for the other weddings she is doing, he steps in to help.

Anna is spunky, quirky and just a bit out there. I can see why her and Kelli got along so well. She is a great foil for Grant's boy scout, perfect gentleman persona.  The sparks between the two burn hot and fast.

The more I meet the Patton's, the more I love them. Especially their mother. I am hoping, with finger's crossed, that the next book will feature Schwartz, the reclusive other brother. This was a solid 4 star read, sure to keep you laughing.

  1. LOL - wow, that definitely is weird. But now I'm hungry. :D This sounds like such a fun series.

    1. Yes, each one has been unique and fun. But I really want more of Mama Patton. She is a riot!

  2. Oh well I sure love her name! lol I enjoyed book one then got off track and haven't read 2 yet. Must do that soon! Can't wait to get to this one :D

    1. Two was good. It was MacArthur, the older brother from book 1 and Kelli, Sheridan's best friend. It doesn't take place in Hawaii, but in Mexico, but still on the beach.
